(HOUSTON, TX)–The Centers for Disease Control releases a study that shows even healthy kids can die from the flu.
The study found that 43 percent of the children who died from the flu in the last eight years were healthy, but only 10 percent of them had their flu shots.
Doctor Luis Ostrosky is a professor of infectious diseases with the University of Texas in Houston. He says flu shots for kids cover four strains of influenza this year instead of three, and smaller needles are being used.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends everyone over six months get flu shots, even if you’re healthy.
