(HOUSTON, TX)–In Montgomery County, Texas DPS troopers are warning drivers to use the “right” lanes when it comes to the flow of traffic.
Troopers are starting to enforce a 30-year-old law in Texas that requires drivers to move to right lane, if faster traffic approaches from behind. Trooper Gordon Schneider says often times slower drivers can cause accidents, sometimes leading to road rage.
“It can lead to simple 911 calls. Sometimes it ends up with weapons being displayed and the vehicles actually striking each other.”
Schenider says if troopers pull you over for not moving over, you likely won’t receive a ticket. He says the move is to inform and educate drivers about the law.
