Customers evacuate as flames claim the legendary House of Pies.
Around 10:45 pm, Houston Fire Department responded to a restaurant fire and found flames coming from the House of Pies on Kirby.
The restaurant was open and full of customers.
“The business was open and operating at the time,” Houston Fire Deputy Chief George McAteere said. “So we evacuated the customers, the crew of the restaurant. The majority of the fire was on the outside.”
Everyone made it out safely and their were no injuries. The damage was extensive so the restaurant will be closed for repairs for awhile.
It’s believed to be an electrical fire but arson is investigating.
