KATY, TX – The Texas Department of Transportation says the new section of the Grand Parkway from I-10 in Katy to US 290 in Cypress won’t open until Saturday but a Texas Trooper has already clocked someone driving 200.6 miles per hour on the 15 mile stretch.
The event was video taped and posted on the web site of the company responsible for jacking-up the engine of a 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray so it could reach the remarkable speed.
The Hennessey Company has an operation in Sealy, TX which is not far from where the test took place. A Texas State Trooper was on hand to clock the vehicle’s speed.
The Hennessey company’s web site proudly proclaims “making fast cars faster since 1991. After watching the video you’ll be left with little doubt that their claims have been authenticated.
The test allowed EZ Tag to see if it’s equipment would function properly even if a toll scofflaw drives through it’s automated system without paying. Yes, we are told the Corvette’s lenience plate was clearly photographed at 200 miles an hour.
For those of you who want a similar car you better act quickly.
The Hennessey only plans to make 100 of them in the 2014 model year.
