We know more about the death of Melissa Sowders.
During a two AM court appearance, prosecutors detailed the murder charges filed against Matthew Sowders after his estranged wife’s body was found in a creek Thursday.
Prosecutors reveal Matthew Sowders admitted twice to friends that he strangled his wife after he claims she pulled a gun on him. He told one person how he dumped her body in Cypress Creek. This is the prosecutor in probable cause court.
“He said he stuffed her into a large black trash can and transported her to Cypress Creek, there he submerged her body.”
The body was recovered Thursday. One of the admissions came during a phone conversation that was monitored by a detective. One witness says she saw the feet and legs of a female on the floor when Sowders answered his door.
He’s also said to have been wet and his truck covered with mud on the day his wife was last seen.
One of the ways the body was identified was a tattoo–“Matt,” it read, the same name of Melissa Sowders’ estranged husband.
