People who do not have health insurance have just two more weeks to purchase some under the Affordable Care Act. Open enrollment ends March 31st.
Houston Congressman Gene Green says he would like to see Congress extend the deadline, but that appears unlikely.
Green says that means “we need to get as many people who don’t have insurance through their employer, or who are not on Medicare or Medicaid to be able to sign up for their families to have health insurance.”
The Obama Administration says more than 4-million people have selected health plans through the federal and state exchanges from October through February.
People who don’t get health insurance will have to pay a fine, when filing their income tax next year.
