(CLEAR LAKE, TX) — Deputies with the Harris County Precinct 8 Constable’s Office have been canvassing Clear Lake-area neighborhoods for the past couple of weeks in light of a recent spike in residential burglaries.
Most of the burglaries happened during the day, so the focus has been placed on ramping up patrols during daylight hours to catch criminals responsible for the break-ins.
Their extra efforts were rewarded Thursday with two arrests.

Around 11 a.m., deputies stopped a Buick sedan for a traffic violation near El Dorado Boulevard and Space Center Blvd.
Marc Duane Gibson, 29, and Keidrick Edward Cole, 24, both of Houston, were in the car. Deputies said Gibson had a suspended driver’s license, and Cole had an open warrant out of Pearland. They were both arrested.
When deputies searched the Buick, they reportedly found a pillowcase stuffed with jewelry and other items.
Pct. 8 deputies worked with Houston police and tracked down the owner of the stolen items.
Gibson and Cole are charged with felony theft. Additional charges could be filed, and investigators are looking into whether the duo is responsible for other open burglary cases.
