Deputies said Phoebe had gone willingly with 34-year-old Eric Castillo. She lived with Castillo and his family at one point. She reportedly called him to pick her up, which he did.
According to deputies, they were concerned for Phoebe’s well-being because Castillo is a registered sex offender.
We’re told a chief deputy in DeWitt County had been in contact with Castillo, who had his father take the girl to the police station in Hondo.
Castillo was not in custody Friday, and deputies said the case would be referred to a grand jury.
