A Brazilian drug dealer under house arrest with a lovely electronic monitoring device flew the coop to continue his business. He attached the device to a pet rooster to fool authorities. 29-year old Isaac Selau was caught when police arrested him selling cocaine on the street when he should have been at home. Police went and searched the man’s home. They discovered cocaine, marijuana and a handgun. They also found the rooster with the electronic device, freed it and caged Selau. READ MORE

Really Cold Feet

Aug. 15 would have seen Alex Lancaster a married woman if her fiance hadn’t faked his own death. The 23-year-old Brit met her 23-year-old fiance Tucker Blanford in August 2012 at college and had a whirlwind romance. She thought it would be over when she went back to the U.K. but he proposed. The two began planning a wedding in Connecticut where they met. Then, a few months down the road, she got a call from a man identifying himself as her fiance’s father, who said her Tucker had been deeply depressed — so much so that he threw himself in front of a car and was killed. She says she hung up devastated. After composing herself she called the family back, his mom answered the phone with no clue about the preivous phone call saying her son was alive and well but she thought the couple had split up. His mom knew nothing about a wedding. Lancaster quickly began to discover Blanford was not keeping up his end of things at all. He has since texted an apology and paid back half the $1,200 Alex spent on wedding-related items. For his part, Blanford says he knows what he did was wrong but says he got cold feet and wanted out of the relationship. Alls well that ends well, though. Alex discovered a talent while preparing for the wedding and has gone into business making wedding favors. READ MORE

Lockup Romance

A woman steals a bottle of cheap wine from a gas station so she can see her boyfriend in jail. Alicia Walicke, 22, of Cedar Park, outside of Austin, was found sucking down a $3.99 bottle of Mad Dog 20/20 when police arrived at the gas station. (Yes, that was her drink of choice.) She told officers her boyfriend was arrested earlier, and it was her fault so she wanted to go to jail and make things right. Don’t worry about this sweet young thing. It’s not her first time in lockup. She has two previous convictions for theft. READ MORE
