(KATY, TX) — A Katy High School junior has perfected the “art” of sewer fishing.

“I actually had a neighbor, and she came out here and saw me doing that and she thought I was dead,” he told our news partner, KHOU 11.
But the 16-year-old was very much alive. Neighbors said he catches a variety of fish.
“We see him pull big catfish out of there; perch, bass,” one neighbor said.
His mother said he catches fish everywhere they go. Naegeli is even training fish in the pond by his house to jump out of the water and grab bait right out his mouth.
She said many people call him the “Fish Whisperer.”
And, in case you are wondering, sewer fishing is a catch-and-release sport only. He doesn’t eat what he catches.
